Mason makes his debut

Our little Mason was a little late, but worth the wait. He was due June 21, 2010. June 29th I went to the hospital and was given Cyotec to get things going. Long story short, I had my little man at 4:12am, June 30th by emergency c-section (he was leaning on the cord). He was 8lbs 2 oz, 20 inches long. I don't think I ever could have imagined how much I would love him at first sight.

I was released from the hospital on the 3rd. Steve and I were up most of his first night home. We had planned to go camping that weekend before Mason took his time getting here. So, the next day we went to realatives for 4th of July picnic and then headed up to Little Sioux to go camping. Now, we weren't tent camping or sleeping under the stars. We have a 5th wheel that is set up with a porch. Has AC, plumbing, etc. Mason sleep pretty well that night. He was probably too worn out. Poor Chance (our 2 year old Puggle) slept next door at my Mom's camper and apparently worried about him all night. Chance considers Mason his new best friend.
We have taken him out a few times to track down a baby swing and to get his photos taken this past Saturday. When I had to feed him in public I was a little nervious. Stopped at Village Inn and fed him under a cover. Little guy sure likes to eat.
So, today is our first day home alone since Dad went back to work today. I was up with him a few times during the night so he could get some rest before having to work all day. Finally figured out I could put a pillow on the back of the couch while he is nursing and take a bit of a nap. When I wake up I can put him in his bassinet without too much of a fuss. Up to this point he will only fall asleep if someone is holding him. But, I have started a load of his laundry, gotten the cloth diapers in the wash, gotten dressed and managed to eat breakfast. I'm pretty excited because I didn't expect to get that much done already this morning.
My goal is to venture out by the end of the week to get a Moby Wrap.
